Ice Cave Slot Review
Winter may well be on it’s way in Games Of Thrones but the Ice Cave is already open down at various Playtech casino and slot sites. Ice Cave is the name of their latest 5 reel 20 payline slot! It has a Norse theme (that’s Vikings to you and me) and it comes with some interesting features including frozen ice wilds and hammer wilds which multiply wins by three.

About Ice Cave Slots
The Ice Cave slot features images of Vikings (male and female) as well as various runes on the reels. These runes, which stand for wealth, joy, protection, victory and power, do tend to look quite similar and often merge into one as they’re presented on a grey stoney background. Bright coloured reel icons may not be appropriate for the look and feel of this game, but it’d have it a little bit easier to see what’s happening.
Choose Your Paylines
Unusually Ice Cave gives you the option to select 10 paylines or 20 paylines. We don’t recall other slots offering such a choice! Wagering can be set from 10p (when playing 10 lines) to £30 (when playing 20 lines and choosing feature bet) a spin. The feature bet button allows Ice Wilds to appear on reel 5. The Autoplay button offers you 10 to 99 spins should you wish to let the computer do the work!
Frozen Wilds
The main feature of Ice Cave is the frozen wilds. When a wild appears on the reels it will stay frozen and remain in play during other spins. The wilds are only lost when the hammer wilds appear on screen. These smash the frozen wilds but also offer a x3 mutliplier on any wins. The only other feature of Ice Cave is the ‘Feature Bet’ button, which as mentioned above allows frozen wilds on the 5th reel.
The Spin On Ice Cave
Ice Cave is quite a cold game – not just in the sense of it’s title. The reels thud into place with a ‘door knock’ and there’s limited background music. The frozen wilds are a nice idea and can result in decent wins provided the hammer wild doesn’t come along too soon. The Norse aspect of the slot is neither here nor there with regards to the overall theme of the game. The frozen aspect could easily have been appropriated by Playtech to penguins and polar bears! This game is worth a look and we do like the various payment choices. However, we’d like to see a couple of firey dragons to swoop in and warm things up a bit! As is, it’s just a tad too cold.
