The Sun Vegas is a sister site to The Sun Bingo with both operating on the Playtech platform. Whilst the latter has been relatively successful the casino and slots market hasn’t always worked out for the newspaper brand. The closure of Sunbet saw a casino option also close whilst The Sun Play on Nektan hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees. In fact it seems to be the forgotten child of The Sun’s gaming stable. The Sun Vegas however is a lot better as a combines slots, live casino and jackpots on a much more favourable platform.
The Sun Vegas Welcome Offer
Sign up as new player to The Sun Vegas and you can collect a 100% deposit bonus up to a hefty £300. Register, login and deposit a minimum of £10 to receive the bonus. Wagering terms do apply and these include a x50 term for the deposit+bonus. This is quite high in our opinion when compared to other Playtech brands. You don’t have to accept the bonus and if you’re not keen on being tied in by these terms you may want to give it a miss. Deposits made with Paypal, Envoy, Neteller and Skrill are not valid for this promotion.
Because The Sun Vegas is powered by Playtech it means there’s a really good assortment of slots to choose from. The slots section includes featured and jackpot games plus there’s a section highlighting new titles. Jackpot King and other progressives also have their own page. Top games featured at the site include Buffalo Blitz, The Sun Winning Headlines, Age Of Gods, Fluffy Mega Jackpot, Fishin’ Frenzy, Reel King Mega and Centurion Maximus Winner Megaways. Slingo and Megaways titles are an option but you’ll need to use the search facility to locate them.
Casino games, Live Casino and Virtual Sports are the other options for visitors to The Sun Vegas. In the casino section there are a number of different versions of roulette and blackjack plus a handful of video poker games – which is nice to see. The Live Casino is powered by Playtech and therefore features popular game shows such as Spin A Win, Age Of Gods God Of Storm Live, Buffalo Blitz Slots Live and the most recent addition Deal Or No Deal Live The Big Draw. The latter is a bingo style game and a lot of fun to play.
The Sun Vegas Promotions
Player promotions, at least those advertised on the site, are very limited. We know that there have been some cross-over promos with Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo in recent times though. As is at the time of writing the main offers are Jackpot slots and a Loyalty Points programme. The Jackpots include Jackpot King titles, Fire Blaze Jackpots and a mix of progressives. We couldn’t see any must drop games though but expect that they are part of the mix. The loyalty scheme means that you earn points each time that you place a real money bet at The Sun Vegas. For example, if you make a £10 bet you will earn 1 comp point.
Like other casino brands The Sun Vegas do offer responsible gambling tools. However we have to say that it has one of the worst responsible gambling sections. Thankfully the tools are useful and include deposit limits, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion. We’re not sure whether exclusion from Vegas would automatically mean exclusion from Sun Bingo and Fabulous. If you need to contact the site then there are live chat and email options although they’re not well flagged from the home page. Click on the red ‘i’ to the right of the screen (on desktop) for help about the site.
The Spin On The Sun Vegas
The arrival of The Sun Vegas should finally give the newspaper brand a casino option that’s as good as it’s bingo product. We can’t fault the selection of slots and live casino because they contain some of our favourite games including Kingdoms Rise titles and live slots. These though can be found at other brands too and therefore The Sun Vegas really needs plenty of promotions and exclusives to stand out from the crowd. In these departments it is lacking although many slots/casino brands are in the same boat. The site itself also could be improved with better categories of slots. There are numerous Megaways and Slingo titles to play here but no sections dedicated to either.
