How To Play Baccarat
Baccarat is played with a single deck of cards. The objective of the game is to predict which of the two hands (one belonging to the Banker and the other to a Player) that are about to be dealt, will be closer to having a value of nine (9).
The hand with the highest point value wins.
The value of a hand is calculated by adding up the value of the cards: Aces have a value of one (1) and face (picture) cards and tens (10) have no value and do not contribute to the value of the hand. All other card values are treated as they appear i.e. 2=2, 3=3, 4=4 and so on.
The highest total any baccarat hand can have is nine. A two-card total of nine is called a “natural” and cannot lose. An eight is the second-best hand and is also called a “natural”. If both the player and banker are dealt identical hands, it’s a standoff (a tie) and neither the banker nor the player hand wins.
