ComeOn Announce Closure Of UK Casino Brands
All details below were correct when published on 3rd September 2019. 18+. UK Only. Wagering terms and conditions apply. Please gamble responsibly.
Last month we told you that Vera&John and Intercasino were closing to UK customers. They are now in the process of taking that action, but there’s further bad news for the UK market. Yesterday ComeOn announced that they too were departing the UK market. This means that the following brands – Comeon.com, mobilebet.com and getlucky.com – will ceases to operate within The UK. The decision for the closures was attributed to “strategic business reasons”. So what will happen next with respect to these brands?
As of the 23rd September 2019 ComeOn, MobileBet and Get Lucky will stop accepting new players who are resident in The UK. Four days later, on the 27th September 2019 these brands will stop accepting deposits from existing players residing in UK. Additionally their accounts will be closed. Funds remaining in player accounts may be withdrawn at any time up until 29th September 2019. However, after 29th September, UK players will have to contact the ComeOn customer support team in order for them to transfer funds to their bank account.
We expect that the customer support team details will be made available on the various sites once they’ve closed. If you have an account with the ComeOn brands then we advise withdrawing your funds as soon as possible. In our view there’s no point continuing to wager with them or add additional funds. You may need to play any bonus funds prior to withdrawal or you may lose them. After that it’s simply a case of deciding a new casino brand to play at – but where to play?
Alternatives To ComeOn
Deciding an alternative option to ComeOn, Mobilebet and GetLucky is difficult. Mainly because it’s quite possible that more brands will decide to leave The UK market. Our advice therefore is consider established brands such as Bet365, William Hill, Jackpotjoy and Paddy Power. Brands like LeoVegas, Mr Green, PlayOJO and Casumo are possibles too. The problem is that now Intercasino, Vera&John and ComeOn have left they’ve opened the door for others to follow suit.
According to reports, ComeOn’s departure is based on The UK market being high risk and highly competitive. Additionally they claim that the UKGC license has lost its symbolic value. Therefore it’s wise for them to look towards Europe. Brands like Rizk, Guts and Casumo operate in these other markets and may well feel that UK taxation, UKGC regulation and perhaps even Brexit uncertainty may make leaving the market a sensible option.
